"El Shaddai" by Denise Neel, 2023. © 16"x20" acrylic on canvas.

Andy Elmes, an amazing pastor from England, was in town and spoke word encouragement in these tumultuous times and where we need to keep our focus: "Having a crowd mentality versus a disciple mentality: Crowds experience miracles; disciples get to handle the miracles." ~ Andy Eglin

Friday night, as we were just waiting on Holy Spirit, I saw a lion with half the face as clouds and half as fire. It reminded me of Moses and how He led the children of Israel through the wilderness, and I knew I would paint the next Sunday. However, when I sat down to paint, I kept hearing. "Fire on the alter" over and over again. Finally, I picked up a Sharpie and wrote it across the canvas. Then "El Shaddai," "Lion of the Tribe of Judah," "Consuming Fire," and "Breakthrough," followed. Then I painted.

When I got home, I looked up scripture references (listed below) for each of the phrases I heard. (The words written all over the canvas). Here is the summation of them, given in order of the phrases:
• "Fire on the alter" (Lev. 6:12-13) There is so much God is doing in this hour. He is rekindling fires and beckoning us to fan into the flame our own fires to burn for Him.
• "El Shaddai" (Gen 17:1) He is reminding us of promises and covenants with Him.
• "Lion of the Tribe of Judah" (Deut 4:23-24) Worship is no longer an option but should be a lifestyle.
• "Consuming Fire" (Rev 5:5) He is a jealous God, a Consuming Fire, and will not share us with any idols we may have in our life.
• "Breakthrough" (1Chron 14:11) God has broken in upon the things that are keeping us bound, "like the breaking forth of waters."

It's time! God is on the move.
