While packing for my first out-of-the-country mission trip, and knowing I would be ministering on a team at church, I sat down with the Papa and asked, “Do you want me to paint tomorrow?”
 
I had nothing, but I knew when I spent time with Him, I would leave changed.
 
I felt His smile and I heard a simple, “Yes.” And then He said, “Let’s look for inspiration together.”
I was almost giddy, and we quickly found one, and He started to speak to my heart about stuff and ideas.
 
The sermon was on checking out hearts and whether we really wanted to see people know Him.  Are people drawn to what we carry? Jesus picked a team of 12 to change the world. Others later joined Him.  We can’t do it without Him. He is, again, calling us into a deep place to touch lives and love well. 
 
Awakening to the call He has placed inside each of us takes time. We need to spend time with Him to know who we are. And then, trust the sending. Jesus didn’t call perfection or demand performance. He was just looking for a "yes", a heart yielded to His presence. It is in the presence we are transformed. He takes what He has already deposited within you, and sets you apart to bring glory to Him. We are the righteousness of Christ Jesus.
 
“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” Matthew 4:19
