Recently, I had the honor of painting during worship and then share what the Lord had been speaking to me about the painting. 
 
The Saturday prior, I observed a double-crusted cormorant sunning himself, when Holy Spirit spoke to my heart, "That bird was doing what he was created to do. He's not impersonating another bird or trying to be something he is not. He does look silly, but majestic, because sometimes the foolish things of this world confound the wise."
 
Time passed. Holy Spirit continued, "Notice how it took him a while to unfurl his glory. Waiting is extremely underrated. Humans lose patience too early. They really need to slow down and observe what I have put before them. If animals are impatient, they will starve or die."
 
At this point, the cormorant flapped his outstretched wings. The Papa continued, "He's testing. Waiting. The opportune time will come. He isn't missing out on anything. He is preparing in the waiting for what is next. He isn't idle. He is intentional.  Humans can be intentional by getting in the Word. Listening and hearing My voice. Worshipping and celebrating the breakthrough."
 
"Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?" Matt. 6:26
 
Isaiah 30:18 says: "Therefore the Lord will wait, that He may be gracious to you; and therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for Him."
